Protecting the Warriors of COVID-19 Pandemic: Analysing the Mental Health of the Healthcare Workers

Purpose: The research objective was to critically analyze the prevalence of any kind mental health problem among healthcare workers (HCWs) and investigate factors affecting HCWs how they impact their health. Design/methodology/approach: data collected using a structured questionnaire from care working in leading hospitals Muscat region Oman. questionnaires were sent more than 300 out which only 202 them filled returned. analysis carried Smart Partial Least Squares (PLS). Findings: study revealed that during pandemic, having typical symptoms anxiety such as nervousness, difficulty concentrating, restlessness, too much fear for everything. They also had Depression frustration no interest doing things, feeling energy carry routines, worrying about underwent PTSD symptom getting disturbing thoughts memories. results constantly living under stress, frustration, pressure directly routines practices. Their stress unnoticed ignored continued treating patients eventually. Research limitations/implications: It is recommended concerned authorities should understand psychological issues provide appropriate facilities, training, moral support. can be motivated through lectures. Working hours number reduced. Training reliefs precautionary equipment provided effectively fight against COVID-19. Social Implications: professionals imminent cannot ignored. helps charge take immediate action observe reduce depression those frontline. Further, timely logistic support, Pay raise, bonuses or rewards, expanded vacation time, full safety COVID-19 could avoid disturbances.
